PPT Timed out Error

Updated over a week ago

When someone asks about PPT Export → “Timed Out” error, share the below steps:

Troubleshooting Steps:

1) Identify the slide

- Remove the most recently edited/added slide(s) and try exporting again.

- If it works, that slide is likely causing the issue.

2) Check Slide Master

- Review Slide Master / Layouts for broken placeholders or unusual formatting.

- Slides using corrupted layouts often trigger timeouts.

3) Recreate the slide (Recommended Fix)

- Insert a new blank slide with a standard layout.

- Rebuild the content manually (avoid duplicating the old slide).

4) Re-upload the deck

- Save a fresh copy of the PPT and re-upload it.

- Then retry the export.

Summary:

PPT Export timeouts are usually caused by one problematic slide (often Slide Master/layout related). Recreating the slide or re-uploading a clean file resolves most cases.
